Kelly's Korner Random Acts of Kindness

Kelly's Korner this week is all about Random Acts of Kindness.  One of my all time favorite things is seeing people do random acts like this. It just shows the good in people out there.  I was trying to think of a few things I had done recently that fell under this category and a few things I think are nice for people to do:

Our neighbors husband works late on trash days, so Adam brings their trash can back up the driveway for him.  He also will mow their grass if he is already doing ours and it needs it.  They always really appreciate that.

Letting someone over in a long line of traffic.

Helping an elderly person load groceries in to their car and then returning their cart for them.  They don't even have to be elderly. I always offer to return someone's cart on my way there.

Unloading my mom's dishwasher for her when she's not home. Who wouldn't love that?

Helping someone broken down on the side of the road.  This can be scary BUT we have done it on a main road before.

This is kind of a funny one.  When Adam and I were just Adam and I, we used to always have a meal boxed up when we went out to dinner and try to find a homeless person on the way home to give it to.  We always found homeless people but never one that wanted food. They all wanted money!! But hey, our intentions were good!

I have to say, anyone who holds a door open for a mom with a stroller should be considered doing a random act of kindness!

Making a meal for someone sick or dealing with death.  Food makes everyone feel better.

I buy Adam's grandparents really good desserts sometimes just because I know his grandpa loves dessert and they would never do that for themselves.

Emailing, texting or calling someone just for no reason to brighten up their day.

Letting someone be right even when you know they are wrong.

We were on vacation a few years ago and we ate at a restaurant that was cash only.  There was a young guy sitting next to us that apparently did not realized that before he ate and when his bill came had no cash on him.  The poor thing got so nervous and totally red in the face.  We picked up his tab for him.  No sense in ruining perfectly good italian over a little misunderstanding.   He was so appreciative.

I think for me personally and I can speak for my husband to some extent, doing these kinds of things make you feel even better than the person you did them for.  It is nice sometimes to do something for someone and know you are doing it for no other reason than to just be kind.   I am anxious to see what everyone else puts.  I know there has to be a ton of people that have really good ideas that I would never think of but will steal and use in the future!!! Happy Friday Everyone! xoxoxox

Great post! I hopped on over from Kelly's Korner. I agree, holding the door open for a mom with kids is a HUGE act of kindness!
