Jimmy Dean Review & Giveaway!!!

This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Jimmy Dean, however the opinions and feelings expressed here are my own.

Recently I was asked if I would be interested in participating in the Jimmy Dean “Better Breakfast, Better You” Program. I did a little research and jumped at the chance because with the New Year right around the corner, I, like so many others will make a resolution to better my health and even more importantly my eating habits. What better ways to jump start my year than to find meals that are healthy and will help me stay on track and to practice a more active lifestyle?


We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day and by choosing to eat Jimmy Dean D-Lights meals in the morning, I know I am getting plenty of protein. They are the perfect meal to get me going before I head to the gym every day. Jimmy Dean D-Lights consists of six different breakfast options. Turkey Sausage Croissants, Turkey Sausage Whole Grain Bagel, Turkey Sausage Breakfast Bowl, Turkey Bacon Breakfast Bowl, Canadian Bacon Honey Wheat Muffin and Turkey Sausage Muffins. All of these options offer good low fat sources of protein. Choosing to eat healthy in the mornings will be the motivation I need to continue throughout the day and keep with my goal to stay healthy in the New Year.

                         



For me, managing my fitness comes harder than the eating healthy part of the equation. This New Year I am hoping to make a commitment to spend more time in the gym and staying active in my everyday life. I have spent the past three years trying to turn some of my body fat in to muscle. I am hoping that the extra amount of protein I am adding to my diet will also assist in this process. I look forward to sticking with my goals and living a better, healthier, more active life in the year to come. I challenge you to “Better Breakfast, Better You” too!

I'm bettering myself by going back to school after 9 years of being away. I'm also bettering myself by spending more time with my children and husband and less time or "stressing out" about cleaning and other mundane things that don't matter at the end of the day (won't mean i will let the house get messy..lol)

oh yeah.. and i will stop eating so much junk food and eat healthier..cause this holiday pooch i've aquired is not cute! bring on the protein!

I have a routine of walking on the treadmill during my tv watching time. there aren't too many shows i like to watch though, so i need to find a way to increase my tv watching. ;) i WILL find a way to be more regular about getting on the treadmill.

I'm concentrating on eating more nutritious foods in the New Year. Sometimes I get stuck on eating lots of low cal foods that aren't exactly healthy--I'm trying to substitute fruits and veggies and proteins now.

I'm in a unique situation. I work with a man who has developmental disabilities, so I am at his apartment all day long, a couple times a week. There is a gym in his apartment complex, so we started going in there and working out together for 45 minutes every day that I work with him. It's great for both of us, and I am incredibly lucky to be able to get a workout in while I am on the job!

I have already begun my better me process, I am almost 4 weeks smoke free. As soon as I can stop getting out of breathe (which is already happening, I am hoping by the 1st) I plan to get back on my treadmill and hopefully get a good workout video to start doing at least 3 times a week.

I'm having surgery later this week, and I'm vowing to FOLLOW EXACTLY the directions of my physical therapist. If I do things my way (i.e., don't move at all), I'll never regain my strength and stamina.

I plan to eliminate some carbs ( I eat a lot yikes!) and introduce more protein into my nutritional meal plan, to exercise at least three times a week (just signed up for zumba) and to get more sleep (at least 7 hours 5 times week!)
