Blog Hop

I love this photo of us because it embodies our happiness. It was a perfect day and I think in addition to it being a celebration of our marriage, it was also a celebration of us as a family. It makes me smile ear to ear whenever I see it.

This is my first "blog hop" and I really have no clue what I am doing but I am attempting to be more blog saavy. Wish me luck!! Haha. I hope this works !!

MckLinky Blog Hop

I am being a lazy blogger

I apologize to all my blog readers out there who haven't seen a post in a few days. I have been crazy busy with I can't even tell you what. The days are just flying by. I mean are we really in the second week of July??
For those of you who know me well, know that I am training for my very first triathlon in September. We just this Sunday hit our 12 week mark so training has been picked up a notch. When I signed up for this triathlon, my biggest fears were these
1. Will I remember how to swim or ride my bike?
2. Will I train enough to be ready?
3. Will I be the person they pick up in the ambulance because everyone else is done with the race and I'm on deaths doorstep?

With twelve weeks to go, these are my current fears
1. Can you see my thong through my bike shorts when I am riding and maybe I should just do away with undies at this point?
2. When I run, am I the only person that notices my breathing sounds like a dog panting?
3. Should I tell my family and friends to stay home since I will be wearing the same skin tight Tri Suit for all three events and it is not at all flattering on me?

Long story short, I think I am much more close to being ready. My thought have shifted from whether or not I can do it, to how terrible am I going to look? I have tons of training and plan on continuing everyday for the next 12 weeks. And if end up being the person they take away in an ambulance, I probably won't realize it, so please just tell me I finished.

P.S. Please continue to pray for sweet Kate and for Grayson. As far as I know, he was born sometime today but I have no word on how he is doing. Thanks!!!!!!!

Show Us Where You Live Fridays...on Tuesday.

So, I am sooo behind on show us where you live Friday! With the 4Th of July and reaching my 12 week countdown for my triathlon, I have been VERY busy. This week Kelly hosted "Show Us Where You Live Friday" and the area was our yards. If I remember correctly?? HA HA. I apologize these pictures are at night BUT with the weather so hot here in NC these days, this is the only time we spend out there. I took these pictures Sunday night when Adam and I were getting to eat dinner outside.
Adam and I own a landscaping company here in Charlotte (THE QUEENS GREENS) so along the way he has learned how to do so many cool things. Including hardscapes. So goes the story of our patio. Adam had done a job for someone and there was left over rock. He came home and announced we were building a patio and after about two months of only working on the weekends and an hour here and there...you get what we have above. It really is beautiful!!! The house you see on the left is actually our neighbors. We live in the city so the houses our pretty close together. We love the neighborhood though.

This picture is what you see when you walk out the backdoor (where as the other was from the far corner of our yard). We have a gas stainless grill (far left) and a smoker. You know we southerners have to have a place to cook our BBQ!! I should have taken better pictures but in the bottom corner you can see another chair where there is another sitting area. People can also sit along the ledge of the wall. This makes for great entertaining! We have gotten so many compliments on the new patio and although there are some things that still have to get finished, I am so happy with it and so proud and thankful that my hubby was able to do this for us! I honestly just did a lot of complaining during the project because it felt like it was never going to be complete.

All of the furniture is from Garden Ridge. I decided I wasn't going to spend too much on patio furniture because we entertain so much it really gets wear and tear on it. It is extremely comfortable and if next year it looks rough, I'll toss it and buy more.

Catch Up

I feel like I have so many little things I am forgetting to add to my blog and I am trying to play a little catch up. Everyday if something comes to mind I want to blog about, I jot it down. Well, there aren't enough days in the year at this point. Our life is a little crazy to say the least.

Although I grew up in Catholic school and I have always been raised around religion I have been a little lax about going to church and keeping up with my prayers the past well lets say ten years. Sad, I know. Since I have started this blogging adventure (that's what we'll call it) I read so many stories about people who have these amazing relationships with God and it really is inspiring. While I am probably not going to become an every Sunday church goer any time soon, I would like to get back in touch with my faith. I think there are a lot of people out there who are in need of prayer (myself included) and I'd like to help. So, through blogging I have started praying for so many people. I'm working on it but right now this is how a typical prayer goes down for me...

"God, I know it's been a long time since we talked, but I think it's time to get back on the prayer wagon. I have so many people I want to pray for. I want to pray for all the kids I read about on blogs that need your help. This week especially baby Grayson who is due to come in to this world anytime and sweet Kate who needs her brain to be fixed. I also need you to look over Nick's mom...I can't remember her name but you know who she is. And thank you for my healthy family and for being good to me when I haven't been good to you." and then I have 3 or 4 P.S. prayers. It's a start right?? Anyways, please pray for Grayson who's blog I attached yesterday and for Kate...http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mcraekate.

Today my friend Candace invited us to come uptown to her pool to swim and hang out. We have done this once or twice before and now I realize why we don't do it more often. Candace lives in one of those really nice high rise condos. You know, where all the young, gorgeous (now laid off) young executives live. Well the day started out fine, I knew Aidan would want to be in the pool the whole time. Candace and I were both getting weary about the status of the pool diaper. Those of you with kids know how deceiving the pool diaper can be. So, about thirty minutes passed and Aidan was making one of his trips out of the pool on the ladder when I noticed my worst nightmare. Poop oozing out of the back of the pool diaper. I freaked. All I could think was "if one of these amazingly beautiful, young, skinny, rich people that have no kids and probably don't even like them" see this, it's going to be MORTIFYING!!!! So, I quickly grabbed Aidan up (he of course started screaming) grabbed a towel, wrapped it around Aidan and told Candace to grab my pool bag and meet me in the bathroom. There was now poop EVERYWHERE! I really didn't know what I was going to do. I just started stripping Aidan down and trying not to get sick. Candace was nice enough to take Aidan's bathing suit and clean it in the sink. At this point, Aidan was so grossed out himself, he was taking toilet paper off the roll and trying to wipe it off (of himself, the pool bag, our towel, the floor and walls) . Finally, we got all cleaned up and headed back to the pool. I was in such a state of shock that something like that had just happened we didn't stay much longer. It's one of those things that you hear about and pray never happens to you. It could have been such a disaster. Imagine if I hadn't noticed BLOWOUT 2009 before he got back in the pool. Oh it makes me nauseous thinking about it.

I will definitely get some pictures taken this weekend so that you guys can see the our little man and how much he is growing everyday!
I will also work on getting my Show Us Where You Live Fridays Up Soon!

In need of a prayer...

I do not know this family personally, but it is amazing how you find yourself somehow clicking on other people's blogs and sharing in their happiness and heartache. This blog http://kinseygracethompson.blogspot.com/ is about a family that lost a little girl during birth last year. They are now expecting a little boy but have just found out he has Trisomy 18 and will not live. They are hoping to be able to give birth to him and at least bring him home for some time. So, please take some time today and pray that they get their wish. While, your at it, give your sweet child a big kiss. Thanks!!
