Our weekend was a whirlwind of great times and I can't believe Monday has already come and gone!!! I can tell this week is going to just fly by!
I wanted to apologize to Megan and Amanda about your comments on Aidan's bday post. There was something wrong with my comments all day and when they showed up, it showed both your comments like ten times. I thought I was doing a nice thing and deleted a few of them and they all disappeared! I don't even want to pretend like I know how to get them back. BUT thank you for the sweet words. I know they were there even if no one else does! Haha.
We are leaving for Massachusetts on Thursday and I have so much to do! You don't even know how much goes in to traveling with a toddler. Did I mention we are driving 12 hours instead of flying. Insert anxiety attack. I better start my list of things to pack. Hope everyone is enjoying their week! xoxo

Happy Birthday To My Precious Aidan
Happy Birthday Aidan! You are THREE! Daddy and I can hardly believe you are three years old! It seems like yesterday we were sitting in the hospital and I was watching Daddy hold you for the first time with welled up eyes and a smile from ear to ear. We didn't know our hearts could hold so much love until you arrived. Here we are three years later!!! Time flies when you are having fun!!!
I can't even begin to tell you the joy you bring to our lives. We fall in love with you all over again everyday. You have a huge heart. You are incredibly smart and wise beyond your little years. You aren't afraid of anything. Well maybe except bugs but that's my fault.
You love your Daddy more than anything and he loves you more than that times infinity. Daddy needs the extra love so I am so glad you can be the one to give it to him. Everywhere Daddy goes you are two feet behind him. He let's you do big boy things that make mommy very nervous. Sometimes I cry when I see you two together. It just makes me so happy. Some days you two laugh and laugh and laugh and you get the hiccups and Daddy makes them go away. Daddy asks you every day if he's your best friend and you always say "Daddy my best friend, yes." When you go to bed at night, he tells me he hopes it stays that way forever.
Right now you are crazy about your kitty Spike. You call him Spikey and he lets you carry him around with you everywhere. When you leave he jumps up in the window and waits for you to come home. You also love airplanes (nana and grandpa take you to the airport to see them), trains (especially the light rail and Thomas) ,Uncle Bobby Decot's boat and firetrucks. Yup, firetrucks. They are your absolute favorite. That's another thing Daddy does, he takes you to the fire station and the firemen let you play on the fire trucks.
You finished your first year of preschool a few weeks ago. Your teachers were Yetta, Maria and Barkha. We both cried the first day I left and by the time the year was over, you would cry if didn't leave. We just potty trained you. We quit diapers cold turkey. Like everything else you've had to learn, you did it all on your own and were so proud of yourself. You even clean your potty yourself when you are done using it. You got that from your Nana. You grew up so much this year. Daddy and I still soak up every minute with you as much as possible. We think everything you do is adorable and so funny.
Your grandparents and uncle's love you to death. Grandpa Decot always chases you and makes you forts. He takes you for walks in the park and lets you steal toys from other kids. Nana spoils your rotten. Mommy will tell you that you can't have something and she turns right around it gives it to you. In her eyes, you can do no wrong. Every time something exciting happens you want to tell Nana and Papa. Your Uncle Bobby loves to come and visit you and he makes you give him lots of hugs and he bribes you a lot with candy. We go to the lake on his boat and he swims with you for hours and you jump off the side of the boat in to his arms. You just recently started calling him Uncle Bobby Decot. Your uncle Jordan babysits a lot and you guys build forts and act crazy. He swings you around and you laugh until you cry. He has a nice girlfriend Hannah and you try to steal her all the time. Grandma and Paw Paw Harvey in Florida miss you so much and call and ask about you all the time. When they come to visit they buy you tons of good toys. Grandma likes to kiss all over your sweet cheeks.
When you were in my belly everyone told me that time would fly by once you were here. They were so right. I wish we could have froze time over the past few years. Almost all of your baby fat is gone now and you are getting taller and skinnier every day. Lucky for us, you are a great cuddler and like nothing more than to be loved on by mommy and daddy all day, everyday. We will give you a little brother or sister but that is just not in the cards for us right now. Someday though, I promise. You will be a marvelous big brother. We are trying our very best to raise you to be a well behaved, polite young man. I know you will continue to make us so proud of you. We love you to the moon and back sweet boy. Happy Third Birthday. Thanks for making us a family. Love, Mommy & Daddy

Tennis Bracelet
I'm officially adding a Diamond Tennis Bracelet to my wish list. I mean a girl can dream right. Or a girl can hope one of her friends email her hubby and tells him. Haha. I think this would be the best accessory to wear with a little black dress (because I always wear those) or just with jeans and a tee. I mean it's only 7 carats. It's exactly what I need to be wearing when my three year old throws up all over me.
In other news...I have been told to start researching a kit price on my camera from this wish list....Woop woop! Mama's birthday is coming up!!! I can't tell y'all how excited I am about this!!! I can't wait to start capturing memories on that bad boy!! And to go with it...
One of these...(wait maybe I could make this?)

Kelly's Korner Random Acts of Kindness
Kelly's Korner this week is all about Random Acts of Kindness. One of my all time favorite things is seeing people do random acts like this. It just shows the good in people out there. I was trying to think of a few things I had done recently that fell under this category and a few things I think are nice for people to do:
Our neighbors husband works late on trash days, so Adam brings their trash can back up the driveway for him. He also will mow their grass if he is already doing ours and it needs it. They always really appreciate that.
Letting someone over in a long line of traffic.
Helping an elderly person load groceries in to their car and then returning their cart for them. They don't even have to be elderly. I always offer to return someone's cart on my way there.
Unloading my mom's dishwasher for her when she's not home. Who wouldn't love that?
Helping someone broken down on the side of the road. This can be scary BUT we have done it on a main road before.
This is kind of a funny one. When Adam and I were just Adam and I, we used to always have a meal boxed up when we went out to dinner and try to find a homeless person on the way home to give it to. We always found homeless people but never one that wanted food. They all wanted money!! But hey, our intentions were good!
I have to say, anyone who holds a door open for a mom with a stroller should be considered doing a random act of kindness!
Making a meal for someone sick or dealing with death. Food makes everyone feel better.
I buy Adam's grandparents really good desserts sometimes just because I know his grandpa loves dessert and they would never do that for themselves.
Emailing, texting or calling someone just for no reason to brighten up their day.
Letting someone be right even when you know they are wrong.
We were on vacation a few years ago and we ate at a restaurant that was cash only. There was a young guy sitting next to us that apparently did not realized that before he ate and when his bill came had no cash on him. The poor thing got so nervous and totally red in the face. We picked up his tab for him. No sense in ruining perfectly good italian over a little misunderstanding. He was so appreciative.
I think for me personally and I can speak for my husband to some extent, doing these kinds of things make you feel even better than the person you did them for. It is nice sometimes to do something for someone and know you are doing it for no other reason than to just be kind. I am anxious to see what everyone else puts. I know there has to be a ton of people that have really good ideas that I would never think of but will steal and use in the future!!! Happy Friday Everyone! xoxoxox
Chippin' Away
I've made great progress on my to do list. We live next to a creek and it rained really bad the other night causing our back yard to flood. Literally a million weeds have come up through our mulch and the ground back there is still saturated. I don't know how the moon bounce is going to be back there! I hope we don't all get muddy. I started pulling the weeds today and tomorrow we are having the grass cut. Isn't that funny? We own a landscaping business and now someone else is mowing our lawn. Adam just has too much going on and we don't have a push mower, otherwise I would just do it. I actually love to mow the lawn. I called our city government today and I talked to someone about all the mosquito's coming from the creek area and they are sending someone out tomorrow to treat the creek so hopefully by party time, we will notice a huge difference. Of course I exaggerated the story a little bit but sometimes you have to do that to get a point across. We also noticed today that our neighbor (the one we didn't know existed until 6 months after moving in because his house is covered in well, every weed on the planet) has poison ivy growing all over the side of his house closest to us and it is coming across the yard now. Not good for Adam aka most allergic person to poison ivy EVER.
I LOVE cleaning house. Since Aidan has gone to bed, I've done 5 loads of laundry, dusted, vacuumed and washed the floor in our dining room, cleaned the entire kitchen, cleaned the playroom, put away 2 or 3 loads of Aidan's laundry and cleaned his room in the dark while he slept. Funny huh? Adam thinks I am nuts. Sometimes when I go to friend's houses I just offer to help clean. Again, I love it. I am my mother's daughter 100%. As a matter of fact she and I spent an entire lunch date the other day just talking about cleaning. I think I'm a psychotic cleaner and she thinks I am a slob. That just goes to show you how much more of a clean freak she is than me!
Tomorrow I have to clean our room, get all the sheets washed, clean our bathroom and wash all the patio furniture.
I love entertaining but I could not imagine doing it without my house being impeccable. Inside and out. The only reason anyone would even come in the house this weekend would be to use the bathroom and I still want the place to be spotless. I take pride in my home. It's my job. Plus if we get the yard looking tip top we can just keep it up for all of our summer BBQs with friends. It's a great backyard and we have done even more landscaping this year and I planted petunias in some pots and its starting to look awesome out there!
One silly little thing I am stressed about is the fact that I sold all of our dining room chairs on Craig's List a few weeks ago and I haven't purchased new ones yet. My dining room looks a little silly with a rug, table, buffet and wine bar but no chairs. Honestly, I just couldn't take the old ones anymore and I haven't found new ones I love. Although, two of these and 4 or 6 of those are peaking my interest right now. They are neutral and washable which is great for having kids and I can throw a small pillow in the armchairs if I want to spice them up or even get the two of them monogrammed.
Well, I have just rambled about who knows what for to long. I love this blog because when I have so much running through my mind, I can jump on here, start typing and I feel like my mind stops a little bit because I got some of it out. Anyone else feel that way about their blogging?
P.S. Kate, if you are reading, I am also stalking my local Craig's List, eBay and I will check our PB outlet for your shower curtain! We will find it girlfriend!!!

I did it to myself
I have a million and one things I have to get done today to get ready for Aidan's birthday party on Saturday. All I have done is reserve the bounce house. On my list of things left to do...
Head to Party City and clean out their Fire Truck themed section.
Order a Fire Truck pull apart cupcake cake from Polka Dot
Clean my entire house
Mow the Lawn
Grocery Shop
Find Aidan some sort of Fire truck paraphernalia to wear on Saturday
Call the fire department to see if they will bring a truck by on Saturday.
I gotta go....
Update: I made good progress yesterday! Now it's 2pm and we haven't even left the house today!

Conversations with an Almost Three Year Old-Part 5
The other day I decided to make a quick stop in to TJ Maxx to see what they had. To my surprise they had an adorable dress and I decided to try it on. For whatever reason, there were more women than usual in the fitting rooms.
Aidan: Mommy, you like that dress?
Me: Well I'm going to try it on, you let me know what you think ok?
Aidan: Otay mommy.
(I start to get undressed)
Aidan: Mommy I see your boobies.
Me: (Mentally thanking my husband for teaching him the word boobies.) Aidan that's not a very nice thing to say.
Aidan: (Practically screaming) Mommy HAS BIG BOOBIES. MOMMY HAS BIG BOOBIES. MOMMY YOU HAS BIG BOOBIES. Breaks in to laughter.
And that is the story of the day I wanted to leave my child behind in the TJ Maxx dressing room.
