Show Us Your Life -Charlotte, NC

This week we are showing you are towns on Show Us Your Life at  Kelly's Korner.

Welcome to  Charlotte, NC!

Charlotte is home to the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Bobcats (now owned by Michael Jordan).
Bank of America Stadium
Time Warner Cable Arena

Charlotte is also now home to the Nascar Hall of Fame.  This building was designed by world famous architect I.M Pei.  You may know him as the architect that designed the pyramid outside of the Louvre in Paris, France.

Charlotte has a hand full of wonderful museums including the new Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.

Charlotte has lakes to enjoy such as Lake Norman, Lake Wylie and Mountain Island Lake.
These are just a few of the great aspects of this growing city.

Charlotte has great history!  It's a great southern town and there is always tons of stuff to do.  Center City is booming and the surrounding neighborhoods are some of the nicest I've ever seen.   We have beautiful parks, great restaurants and tons of cultural attractions.  You really should stop by for a visit!

Here are some great websites if you are thinking about planning a trip to Charlotte:

Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to see your towns!!!

Design Day Dreams-I Want to Make Over My Master Bedroom

There is no way anyone thinks it crazy that I want to make over another room in my house.  I get bored easily around here.  My creative juices are out of control.   Typically I like to find an "inspiration room" and work from that.  Here is my inspiration room:
(Decor Pad)
Our Master Bedroom is a quarter of the size of this room and I would like to use things I already have.  I am all for refinishing and moving things around.  I need some new window treatments and would like a floor length mirror on the wall like the one in the corner here.
First up on my list though is redoing an ornate frame to hang our flat screen TV in the center of.   I have been scouring Craig's List for the perfect frame.  I may just have to wait until Michael's or Hobby Lobby have a frame sale.
This is an idea of what it would look like:

I have my work cut out for me but I am looking forward to doing it and doing it on a HUGE budget.  I will post as I go.  I just have to get through this baby shower this weekend, Aidan's party next weekend and our trip to Massachusetts the following week.  Then Master Bedroom Make Over Summer 2010 is ON!

Conversations With An Almost Three Year Old-Part 4

As usual I gave Aidan a kiss today and he wiped it off.

Me: Give me a kiss.  (I proceed to take one)

Aidan: GROOOOOOOS. YUUUUUUCK Mommy.  (wipes his entire face off five times with his arm).

Me: Your mean.

Aidan: Your April.

I am still laughing.

The Back Up Plan

I forgot to tell y'all I went to see the Back Up Plan with my girlfriend Meredith a couple of weeks ago.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I am not a huge fan of Jennifer Lopez but we cracked up the whole time.  I really think you have to have either had a baby or talked to your girlfriends about all the in and outs of child birth and pregnancy to get some of the jokes though.  I leaned over to say to Mere "that really happens", a lot.

I don't think it would be a great date night movie but it's perfect for a girl's night out.  It might be one of those movies that scare men out of wanting to have a child.

Next up on my movie list is Sex In The City 2.  I can't wait.   My mom and I religiously watched SITC when it was on. I still make Adam watch re runs on TBS and I have every season on DVD and have been known to randomly pop in a season and knock it out while ironing a pile of laundry.   I do have to say, after this movie, it might be time to call it quits. I don't know how much more you can do with this foursome.   I plan on seeing it while Aidan is at school next Thursday. I'll be sure to let you know what I think.

If anyone has any good movie recommendations, send them my way.  We are huge movie people over here.  We watch about four movies a week at home and try to get a movie in at the theatre every couple of weeks.  We love all genres of movies.  EXCEPT, I can't do horror films.  They just terrify me.  I don't know how people watch them.  Thanks for any recommendations ahead of time! xoxo

You May Need To Send Me To The Psych Ward

At about 5 PM last night, I realized how much I have left to do for my girlfriend Candace's shower and I started to melt down.

I know that it's all going to get done but I just want it to be beautiful. I am so happy we decided to make so much stuff by hand because now Candace's is going to have one of a kind things for Cole.  Everything is so cute.  If I do say so myself.   And made with so much love.   When I say I have put my own sweat and tears in to all of these lovely things, I literally cried while working on some of these projects.  Call me sappy but I just got so happy thinking about little baby Cole using all of this stuff.   I am so excited for Candace.  Is it my turn again yet? Haha jk.

I want to post so many pictures to show you but I will have to wait until after Sunday. Boring I know.  I promise all the great ideas for your future projects will be worth the wait. Melissa and I have put together one hell of a baby shower.  I am a little jealous of it.  Hee hee.

We are doing all of our food shopping tomorrow and I can't wait to start cutting finger sandwiches in to animal shapes and I especially can't wait to see the cake we ordered!!!  We may just have to start a party planning business.  Right Melissa?

On my other list of things to get done this weekend:

Plan Aidan's birthday party. Did anyone remember that his party is two weeks from Saturday and forget to tell me?  I will definetely be sending out an eVite.  You know, just another small project to tackle.  Not.

Miracle Drugs

I don't want to jinx it, but I think I'm getting better.  I have been on Prednisone for about 18 hours now and I feel like a new person.  Well a new person with post nasal drip and the sick man voice I mentioned in my previous blog post.

I actually cleaned my house today. Ok, truthfully, my mom did most of the work, but I helped.  She just cleans like 20 times faster than me. I guess when she comes over to our "shack" it seems so much easier to clean than her almost 5000 sq ft house.   Whatever the reason, I am in such a better mood now that the laundry is caught up and I can't see dust bunnies underneath the dresser that houses all of Adam's clothes and the TV  entertainment center while I am confined to the sofa.

I was doing so well not whining about being sick because I was trying to prove a point.  UNTIL, last night and it all came crashing down and I cried for 20 minutes.

UPDATE: So, I started this post Thursday night of last week and well I had jinxed myself. Saturday morning I found myself in the ER wondering if i was going to make it through the day.  Adam really wanted to come with me but I was adamant about just going, waiting it out, seeing a Dr and coming home.

The story goes a little like this.  I was previously being treated for a different kind of strep that I had.  So, although the Prednisone made me feel like a champ for about a day, my strep was in full force Saturday morning and my throat was so swollen I got a shot of a steroid.    I got new drugs for my strep and now sinus infection.  I was feeling a million times better by Sunday morning.

Sunday we even went out to a friend of ours property in the country and I rode on the back of Adam's 4 wheeler.  Thankfully he only drove about 5 miles per hour but at that speed I was on the verge of anxiety attack.  I had to be able to say I tried it once.  Aidan and I enjoyed the breeze under the huge trees and skipped rocks through the creek.  The men rode the ATV's and did some work on the property.  It was a nice afternoon.  I am glad to be almost back to myself.  I have missed my blogging and although I feel like I should have so much to tell you, I literally was just miserable last week and did nothing.

I have a busy week ahead so I will let you guys in on all of that fun stuff as it happens!!!  Enjoy your week and thanks for still reading! xoxox
