Halloween 11'

Halloween was a hit at our house.  Aidan was standing at the door with costume in hand when I got home from work.  Some friends of ours came over, Adam turned our wagon in to a hay ride, we grabbed a few Sam Adams Octoberfest  for the adults and we were off! 

This was the first year Aidan would walk up to a house all alone and actually say Trick or Treat. He was in utter shock that it was that easy to get candy.  His eyes almost bulged out of his head when he turned around and looked at us at the first house.

Adam and I kicked leaves walking arm in arm talking about how much better Halloween is when you can see it through your own child's eyes.  We swapped stories about our own Halloween nights as kids. We made our last stop at my parent's and Aidan was happy to share some of his candy.  On the way home Aidan fell asleep with his football helmet in one hand and a Kit Kat in the other.  It was a perfect Halloween.

Happy Halloween Y'all!!! We had a great holiday!  It was so much fun to see Aidan Trick or Treat this year because he actually knew what was going on.   He had a great time.  He practiced saying Trick or Treat for weeks leading up to the big night.  As usual we spent the evening at my parents house.  They get about 600 trick or treaters and their neighbors have some of the greatest decorations.  It's a kids Halloween dream come true and extremely entertaining for the adults.   We actually saw a Winnebago driving around about 30 kids, a man walking a goat dressed up and an entire family dressed up as the characters from Toy Story. Their dog was Woody!!! It was too cute.  I know all you really care about it the pictures so here they are...of our little pumpkin.

 Headed to Trick or Treat with Daddy.  This was Adam's first Halloween he didn't have to work so he was really anxious to take him. He was thrilled to go with his Daddy but was confused as to why Uncle Bob wasn't with him this year.

 Daddy let him sit in his lap the last 20 ft of the ride home.  He loves to "drive".   He honked the horn at a guy walking his dog and Adam rolled down his window to apologize.  "Sorry man, I am teaching my three year old how to drive."  You should've seen his face.  Haha!

We hope everyone had a great and safe Halloween! Can't wait to see pics of everyone's costumes in the coming days.   I think I am going to spread my wings and make Aidan's costume next year.  Maybe by then we will have a new baby and I can coordinate their costumes!!! ; )



Show Us Your Life Fridays...Halloween Costumes

This week at Kelly's Korner, we are showing past and present Halloween costumes. Since, I haven't dressed up in years, I figured I would show you Aidan's. Besides, who wants to see me dressed up instead of this cutie!!!

This is Aidan's costume for this year. He's a monkey!!! I took this picture on Thursday before he left for school. They had a Halloween parade and all the kids got to wear their costumes.

Last year, Aidan was a dinosaur. I think that's what the costume was supposed to be anyways! Ha! He hated the hood last year so this picture depicts what he did every time I tried to get a good picture.

This is Aidan's first Halloween. He was the CUTEST penguin!!!

I am hoping to be able to go through some of the entries tomorrow and get some good ideas for next year!! I am actually going to a Halloween party tomorrow night with some girlfriends and I am going to be a cat. Maybe I will be brave and take some pictures to post!!!
