Hubby's Weekend ReCap

I have two posts sitting, waiting to be published about Aidan's birthday party and our trip.  All I need are some photos to make them interesting but just to prove that my worrying is for a cause, Adam was involved in a wreck on his 4 wheeler this weekend in West Virginia.   Scariness.

What I've got out of Adam (from what he remembers) is that he and his friend Matt were riding along the side of the mountain, Adam on the outside, and Matt lost control of his bike and it hit Adam's.  Adam made the choice to abandon his bike and apparently took a dive off the side of the mountain and he was followed by his bike which ended up landing on him and pinned him up against a tree.

Luckily, he escaped with only a cut under his eye and two broken ribs. It could have been so much worse and I have already listed the 4 wheeler for sale on Craig's List.   He is most upset because his sunglasses were not recovered, they were smashed under his helmet.

I swear he has been sleeping since I got home.  They gave him a Rx for pain and sleep because he is in so much pain.  I have to admit I am having trouble being totally sympathetic because I warned him that the 4 wheeler was dangerous. Even though he wasn't being reckless, you just never know what can happen.    I hate to say I told you so BUT...

So say a prayer that my hubby feels better.  He has to go back to work tomorrow.  I would imagine it's going to be a long day considering it hurts to breath.

If you look really close you can see Adam's bike.
The cut under Adam's eye.
Bruising on his shoulder.
Bruising on his ribs.  The rippling in Adam's skin is from a heat patch he has been wearing.

I'm ALIVE

I am still alive.   Not blogging at all like I thought I would because NO ONE in the town seems to have wireless for me to connect to.  Bummer.

We are having a great time. Spent the day in Boston.  And now I'm ready to come home.  I miss my hubby, my bed and nice weather.  Typical New England, it has been rainy and in the 60's since we got here. Bummer again.

I am sitting in my aunt's basement typing this really quick while I wait for my pants to dry in her laundry room.  We are headed home tomorrow. We are supposed to stop in MD for the night but I am voting we drive straight home to my bed.  Ha!  Miss you all and I hope you had a great weekend!!! xoxo

I'm Leaving...in a Lexus

I wish it were on a jet plane but (sigh) we are taking off in the big Lex SUV.  It's quite luxurious so I can't completely complain but the drive is 12 hours.  I have to keep reminding myself that this was MY idea.
Road tripping with my my mom and son, stopping along the east coast to visit friends and family we never get to see, sounds like a blast right?   Of course. I just wish a private plane could take us to each stop.

Mr. Harvey (I like the sound of that) is embarking on an adventure of his own this weekend.  He is headed to West Virginia to go four wheeling with some of his friends for the weekend.   He is a mixture of excited and home sick already.  I think that's so sweet.  He IS the man that called me from his bachelor party and told me he wanted to come home.  What can I say? I take good care of my man! Anyways, he is packed and ready to go. Helmet, boots, bike, two pairs of underwear, tent, sleeping bag and his toothbrush.  Guys are so easy. I get sooo nervous about him being in the woods for three days with no communication.  Even though the ATV is a lot of fun, it can be super dangerous too. So if you remember, say a prayer he makes it home to us safely. I'm a huge worry wort.

Our first stop tomorrow will be in Hagerstown, MD.  To stay with our dear friends the Smith's.   Before we moved to Charlotte, my dad took a job in Maryland for 11 months.  My brother Bobby and I, went to a small Catholic school (St. Mary's) with the Smith kids and our families became instant friends.  We have taken several family vacations together, one including the summer we spent in Italy. We can't wait to see Dr. and Mrs. Smith and some of the boys!

I do have an entire post to do about Aidan's birthday party but I didn't take any pictures and I am waiting on some from Hannah.  I will work on that when I return.    It was such a great weekend.

I will be keeping up with my blogging from the road but I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Adam, Adam He's Our Man

Tonight is Adam's first softball game of the season.  His team is kind of hilarious. It's comprised of about 5 Wells Fargo executives, 5 neighborhood hoodlums and 4 of my youngest brothers friends.   The best part, the didn't have a team name at the time of sign ups so they are now being called "To Be Determined". I think it's quite fitting actually.

Team Captains Adam and Jordan headed out to Dick's Sporting Goods today to buy some gloves, balls, bats, jersey's and most importantly Big League Chew.  Apparently there were only pink softballs left so yup you guessed it, they are playing with pink softballs.

I inquired about coming to the game to cheer the guys on and Adam said I had to practice first.  Then he proceeded to quiz me on the cheers I knew.   All I could come up with was ...

"Adam, Adam he's our man. If he can't do it nobody can. Yeeaaaaaaaah Harvey".  His response "Perfection."

So that's what I'm doing with my Tuesday night. Cheering my hubby to victory in his first two softball games of the season.  I should be packing but who would want to miss this?

Is it seriously Tuesday already?

Our weekend was a whirlwind of great times and I can't believe Monday has already come and gone!!!  I can tell this week is going to just fly by!

I wanted to apologize to Megan and Amanda about your comments on Aidan's bday post.   There was something wrong with my comments all day and when they showed up, it showed both your comments like ten times. I thought I was doing a nice thing and deleted a few of them and they all disappeared! I don't even want to pretend like I know how to get them back.  BUT thank you for the sweet words. I know they were there even if no one else does! Haha.

We are leaving for Massachusetts on Thursday and I have so much to do! You don't even know how much goes in to traveling with a toddler.  Did I mention we are driving 12 hours instead of flying.  Insert anxiety attack.  I better start my list of things to pack.  Hope everyone is enjoying their week! xoxo

Happy Birthday To My Precious Aidan

Happy Birthday Aidan!  You are THREE! Daddy and I can hardly believe you are three years old!  It seems like yesterday we were sitting in the hospital and I was watching Daddy hold you for the first time with welled up eyes and a smile from ear to ear. We didn't know our hearts could hold so much love until you arrived.  Here we are three years later!!!  Time flies when you are having fun!!!

I can't even begin to tell you the joy you bring to our lives.  We fall in love with you all over again everyday.   You have a huge heart. You are incredibly smart and wise beyond your little years.  You aren't afraid of anything.  Well maybe except bugs but that's my fault.

You love your Daddy more than anything and he loves you more than that times infinity.  Daddy needs the extra love so I am so glad you can be the one to give it to him.  Everywhere Daddy goes you are two feet behind him.  He let's you do big boy things that make mommy very nervous.  Sometimes I cry when I see you two together.  It just makes me so happy.  Some days you two laugh and laugh and laugh and you get the hiccups and Daddy makes them go away.  Daddy asks you every day if he's your best friend and you always say "Daddy my best friend, yes." When you go to bed at night, he tells me he hopes it stays that way forever.

Right now you are crazy about your kitty Spike.  You call him Spikey and he lets you carry him around with you everywhere. When you leave he jumps up in the window and waits for you to come home.   You also love airplanes (nana and grandpa take you to the airport to see them), trains (especially the light rail and Thomas) ,Uncle Bobby Decot's boat and firetrucks.  Yup, firetrucks. They are your absolute favorite.  That's another thing Daddy does, he takes you to the fire station and the firemen let you play on the fire trucks.

You finished your first year of preschool a few weeks ago.  Your teachers were Yetta, Maria and Barkha. We both cried the first day I left and by the time the year was over, you would cry if didn't leave.  We just potty trained you.   We quit diapers cold turkey.  Like everything else you've had to learn, you did it all on your own and were so proud of yourself. You even clean your potty yourself when you are done using it. You got that from your Nana. You grew up so much this year.  Daddy and I still soak up every minute with you as much as possible.  We think everything you do is adorable and so funny.

Your grandparents and uncle's love you to death.   Grandpa Decot always chases you and makes you forts.  He takes you for walks in the park and lets you steal toys from other kids.  Nana spoils your rotten. Mommy will tell you that you can't have something and she turns right around it gives it to you.  In her eyes, you can do no wrong.  Every time something exciting happens you want to tell Nana and Papa.  Your Uncle Bobby loves to come and visit you and he makes you give him lots of hugs and he bribes you a lot with candy.  We go to the lake on his boat and he swims with you for hours and you jump off the side of the boat in to his arms.  You just recently started calling him Uncle Bobby Decot.  Your uncle Jordan babysits a lot and you guys build forts and act crazy.  He swings you around and you laugh until you cry.  He has a nice girlfriend Hannah and you try to steal her all the time.  Grandma and Paw Paw Harvey in Florida miss you so much and call and ask about you all the time. When they come to visit they buy you tons of good toys.   Grandma likes to kiss all over your sweet cheeks.

When you were in my belly everyone told me that time would fly by once you were here.  They were so right.  I wish we could have froze time over the past few years.  Almost all of your baby fat is gone now and you are getting taller and skinnier every day.  Lucky for us, you are a great cuddler and like nothing more than to be loved on by mommy and daddy all day, everyday.  We will give you a little brother or sister but that is just not in the cards for us right now. Someday though, I promise. You will be a marvelous big brother. We are trying our very best to raise you to be a well behaved, polite young man.  I know you will continue to make us so proud of you.  We love you to the moon and back sweet boy.   Happy Third Birthday.  Thanks for making us a family.  Love, Mommy & Daddy
