Scout Had Surgery

Scouty boy has been fixed.  He wasn't happy about it but it was just that time.  We felt terrible dropping him off at a strange place and spoiled him rotten for days. That of course is now biting us in the behind.

Mellow Scout.
I have to wear a cone Scout.
Aidan loves me Scout.
I got to sleep on the sofa Scout.
This really sucks Scout.

Don't worry, he's back to his old self. Which means he is always looking for a new home if anyone is interested! Ha.

Father's Day Recap

We had a really, really nice Father's Day weekend.  Saturday we were invited to a BBQ at the home of one of Adam's friends from high school to celebrate.  There were around 40 people at the BBQ! Adam had a great time hanging with the guys and Aidan thoroughly enjoyed all the kids.  I didn't know Adam back then but luckily his friends are never short on great stories for me about his "good ole days."  We had some really good laughs.

Sunday we headed over to my parents bright and early for a day at the pool.  We all got some time to relax and my parents are always wonderful company.  Aidan was thrilled to have some time with Adam in the pool.  My brother Jordan even surprised us and came up from Clemson for the night!

I am really lucky to have such a wonderful man for a father.  He's always supported me and loved me unconditionally.  He really has taken Adam in as his own and from the day Aidan was born has been the world's greatest grandfather.  Never to busy to take time out for the kid.

And I have to of course brag on my man.  He didn't have the loving relationship with his Dad I have with my Dad.  But somehow he's effortlessly managed to be the most loving father I could have ever asked for my children.  He's such a good Dad.  Sometimes I look at he and Aidan together and the depth of their relationship boggles my mind.  His desire to have such an amazing relationship with his son is incredibly admirable.  We hit the Daddy jackpot with Adam.   Seeing him with Aidan makes me fall in love with him over and over.

This is a game Aidan plays where he piles all the patio cushions on Grandpa and then someone else has to put them back.

Hope all you Dad's had a great day!!

Aidan's 5th Birthday

Remember that post when I asked for a day of rest before I wrote the post on Aidan's party? Soooo I took over a week!!! But I'm back and ready to share!

We do the kids birthday big around here! And we really did it up big for number 5!  We themed the whole week for him.  He is really in to Star Wars these days.  He picked up this obsession from a few of the boys at school. It's been quite comical because up until the week of his birthday he had never seen a Star Wars movie EVER. Still obsessed.

Did you know you can't rent Star Wars movies anywhere?  Thank goodness Adam has a nerdy Star Wars friend that had all six episodes.  So we started the week with Episode 1 and watched one every night for the whole week.  Aidan loved them.  They were a little old for him but he really just wanted to see the characters.

A day at the pool with his new Star Wars towel.

Dinner out at a restaurant of his choice. Of course he chose to eat at Daddy's restaurant.

Thursday was his birthday and the big party.  We usually do all his parties here at the house but this year we opted for Monkey Joe's. It literally saved me about $800 in comparison to last years party and the kids had the best time.  I didn't have to do a thing!

Monkey Joe. What a celeb.

 Almost worn out.

Star Wars pull apart cake. These guys even had light sabers that lit up!

We bought him this mask as one of his gifts and he loved it.

Friday night we went out for Mexican. Aidan had a salad. Go figure.

Then we saw the new Madagascar movie.  It was sooo cute!  Adam and Aidan would probably be just as happy to do all this stuff without me.  They are like two peas in a pod.  They are crazy about eachother.

Saturday we had to do some work around the yard...Aidan is such a little helper with his own wheel barrow.

But Sunday we went to the pool at my parents for one final night of Bday celebration.  We had dinner and cake and after we sang to him he asked if he was 6.  Too cute.

We watched one last Star Wars movie.

And this little 5 year old slept like a baby after such a fun week!

It was a wonderful week.  The baby is 5! Where has the time gone??

14 Weeks

Don't worry I won't do this every week.   Maybe every 4 weeks until we're closer to D Day?  And
I am not posting a bump picture because there is no bump yet to be shown.  I didn't show forever with Aidan and it will probably be the same this round.
I spent so much time working on this on our chalkboard. Ooookay, no I didn't.

I Need a Day

It's been a crazy week around here! Our little man turned 5!  A huge milestone!!!  We celebrated for an entire week.  He was definitely spoiled and it's going to take a few days to bring him back to reality.

He starts his first week of camp today!  I'm looking forward to some free time to get this house back in order (and a pedi with Amanda), write some Thank You notes, make some to-do lists for the next couple of months and run some errands for my parents.  I know he's going to love being back with some of his buddies for the summer.

Our yard was looking a little neglected (and if you know us, this is not typical) so we were out there for hours yesterday.  Hopefully my garden will start to grow some veggies soon!

Instead of taking the time to write out his birthday post, I chose to watch some Sunday night HBO and snuggle with Adam.  So I need a day.  But his post is on the way! We had so much fun!!!

To My Little Man on His 5th Birthday

Your 5!!! Your 5!!! Your 5!!!! I still can't believe it.

Before you were born, Daddy and I would wonder what you were going to be like.

"I hope he doesn't get your nose."  "I hope he grows up to be polite."

Then you were here.

And as each birthday has come and gone for the past 4 years we've wondered what the next year would bring.

We were always looking forward to a new milestone.   You smiled, you crawled, your personality started to show through, we got to watch you learn new things.

Before we knew it, five years had passed.

You are always changing, teaching us new things and making us fall in love with you over and over and over.

I don't know what the next year will bring for you.

This is what I do know.  The past five years, they've been perfect.  There's nothing I would change about you or that time.  We all grew up a little bit together.

You are a million times better than anything I could have dreamt you would be.  As each year goes by you far surpass my greatest expectations.

Everything since the day the placed you in my arms has been the biggest bonus in my life.

I'm so glad you ended up being you.  And while it's bittersweet that the time is flying by, I love every minute of it I get to spend with you.

Happy 5th Birthday Sweetheart.

Love,  Mom

More Info on Baby Harvey

I know I have left you guys hanging on the details of the newest little Harvey.  So here's what I know...

I'm 13 weeks.  We have known since April 1st!   No one wants to tell people they are pregnant on April Fool's Day.  They don't believe you.  Haha!

Was this planned?  Super planned.  I saw my Dr. on March 12 for a checkup, I told her we were ready to try for #2, she gave me the go ahead and I had a positive test in my hand on April 1st.  Fast huh?  I'm not taking that for granted.  In between then and my 1st appointment, I took 6 tests. I was in shock!  I'm still in shock.  She and I had a good laugh when I was back in to see her less than 6 weeks later.

I've been sick. Really, really sick.  Like laying on the sofa all day and night sick.  I'm starting to feel a little bit better but now I have the worst heartburn and I'm dizzy.  Poor Adam is so patient but I know it's frustrating to come home to the laundry unfolded and another pizza on the counter.  Energy, anytime you want to come back, I'm ready.

Everything about this pregnancy is a thousand times different from my pregnancy with Aidan.  I am mentally preparing myself for a high maintenance baby and I'm totally game.

We have not decided whether or not we are going to find out the sex.  Sure we would love a girl, but we would love a boy too.  We are CRAZY in love with Aidan and I would be thrilled to have two boys!  My mom does ask me every time we talk about it when we'll know so I may have the ultrasound tech put it in an envelope and just give it to her.  Can't have Nana loosing sleep over pink or blue???

Aidan has a slight clue as to what's going on.  He hears us talking and obviously picks up on it.  But when we called my MIL to tell her, Adam thought it would be cute to have Aidan spill the beans and after we hung up he looked at me and said "why did we tell Grandma we are having a baby."  My Dad asks him what he thinks the new baby's name should be {William Aidan for those of you that are curious} or we'll ask him if he's excited but we really aren't pressing it.  He'll catch on when the bump shows up.

We really want to spend the next months relishing in the time we have left as a family of three.  We have got a pretty great deal going over here and while we'll miss it, we are really excited.  Of course Aidan's world is going to be turned upside down but we're confident he will be amazing and everyone knows the LOVE DOUBLES, it doesn't divide.

Last time I was pregnant, no one else was.  This time around everyone is pregnant!  Some of my favorite bloggers here in Charlotte {and everywhere else} are a few months ahead of me and I can't wait to read about all the wisdom they have to bestow on me as mom's of two! Exciting for everyone!

I think that's about it for now.  When things start getting exciting maybe I'll do a weekly preggo post. That would be fun for some and annoying at the same time.

Thanks so much for all the love on our news.  We are really, really feeling super blessed these days!

Some of you may have noticed I reactivated my Facebook account. It's primarily to keep family in the loop on our baby news, hence the announcement I posted there. As much as I've come to love my life without Facebook, it is good for communicating with the masses of family members we have spread out over the country. If you are not my friend there anymore, it's nothing personal it's just that my intention is to just post links for family to get to the blog and they make it so much easier than sending out mass emails. There is much more fun information on our lives here.

Moving Weekend

My parents moved in to their new condo this weekend.  Thursday the movers came and packed everything up and they had their first night there Friday.  It's a work in progress but they've gotten a lot done in the past few days.  I can't wait to see it when it's complete!  Just for our sake, I'm posting some pics of the Before and Afters.  It's come a long way in the past 7 months!!!

Entrance to their condo.  Their actual foyer is a great size.  When all of their chandeliers are hung, I'll take a pic!

Dining Room (It's much larger than my pictures)

This is one side of their living room. You can see the other side in one of my other shots.

Kitchen.  This is a partial shot of the other side of the living area.  On the other side of the half wall is a breakfast area with a banquet.

Another shot of their kitchen.  I picked the slab for the counter tops and I think I did a fabulous job thankyouverymuch.  We had it honed instead of polished and it couldn't have turned out better.  Their cabinets in this area are the slightest shade of blue.  My Dad designed all the cabinetry at our family plant in North Carolina.  I'm betting we could get a few babies in that sink for bath time.

My moms drool worthy laundry room.  I'm so envious of her washer/dryer on pedestals.  And all her storage.  And her floor.  And...and...and.

Hallway leading to bedrooms.  Soon to be adorned with some of their beautiful artwork.  The other end of this hallway has a great little niche and my parents put their bronze statue in it. Perfect fit!

Master Bedroom. I can't believe I don't have a picture of their closet or master bath.  Both are gorgeous!!!  My Dad designed the cabinets perfectly and they are a charcoal grey color.

Guest Bath/Aidan's Bathroom =).  I love the Carrera marble subway tiles.  They are the same tiles we used in our bathroom remodel that I have yet to show you! Sorry no pictures of the other bedrooms.

I will make sure to do a fun update when their furniture is all in it's place and some of their art collection is hung.  It's the start of a magnificent home.

We already tested out the pool.  We actually were able to get in three days.  It's a great pool.

Thanks to everyone for all the love in regards to our newest addition.  We are so so so excited!!
I have a post coming up with all the fun details.  Stay tuned!
Happy Monday!!

We're Having a Baby!!!

This Harvey family is growing to FOUR!!!

Things are getting ready to be VERY different around here.
We're excited, anxious and a little nervous.
But we've wanted to do this AGAIN for a LONG time so we're ready!

Deets to come!
